PIP/ATTENDANCE ALLOWANCE WHEN OVER PENSION AGE was created by DC
Hi guys, my mum had a stroke 18 months ago and it has turned all our worlds upside down, she is incontinent , struggles to walk and in constant pain. She is 72, would she be entitled to pip or the old attendance allowance, or whatever it is called these days? im not sure if she gets full pension or pension credits, would this affect any entitlement? many thanks

Hi DC
As your mother is over state pension age, she can only apply for Attendance Allowance. It's a non-means-tested benefit, so it won't affect anything else. Follow the link for additional information. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/dla

she thinks she is on part pension & part pension credit. She is worrried that if she applies for attendance allowance it may affect her pension credit, then her council tax deductions, housing benefit etc could be affected. Any advice on this matter please

Hi DC
According to the government website If she applies and is awarded attendance allowance, she may be entitled to additional money in terms of pension credit and housing benefit.
