Pension credit was created by Mike1950
Hi,
I receive lower pip for both, my wife receives Attendance Allowance and just recently we applied for pension credit, we also both receive state pension. However I think somewhere along the line the dwp may have made a mistake as we get £870 per month, not only that but we received an update last week to inform us it is going up to £920 per month from April.
Any thoughts please.
Mike.

Hi Mike1950

We can not give you any advice as we do not have enough information, we would advise you to see help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk

I will try and explain how GPC works based on current rates.

As a couple your allowance is £306.85 pw, because you both receive a qualifying benefit you get an additional double SDP element worth £152.80pw therefore total amount GPC = £459.65 pw. You then deduct both your state pensions and any other pensions and or income. What ever balance is left over will be your GPC pw.

Remember GPC is paid 4 weekly.
