I informed the assessor in the telephone assessment recently that I would like to send additional information after the assessment and she said that I can send it at any point as due to Xmas holidays, it will take time for case workers to make a decision on the PIP claim.
I also called DWP to let them know that I will be sending them more information and they put a note on the record and said that the report wasn't sent off yet. Does this mean that they will wait until they receive additional evidence before making a decision? I will send it as soon as possible but not sure when they will get it due to Xmas post.

Hi Brenda,
I think it's a difficult one to answer unfortunately - I don't think there's an exact timescale on when the DWP will send out the decision, but you can still send your evidence, and it'll get added to your file, and even if they have made their decision before your evidence arrives, you can always apply for a Mandatory Reconsideration, so you'll be fine either way.
I know it can be stressful and worrying, especially this time of year with the delays etc, and RM losing mail, but you still have a few further options regardless to continue with your claim.

I'm not sure if I mentioned part-time tutoring when asked about work - started recently, tutoring young children, couple of hours, couple of times a week at Uni and likely to stop soon as exams coming up. Am I right in thinking that as PIP is not means tested, the only changes that need to be reported are the ones related to health conditions/ability to do daily activities?
I mentioned a similar summer job but the assessor confused me by asking lots of questions about it, as though they were reading too much into it. I'm not sure if they might just assume that you must be fine with socialising and managing money if you have a temporary part-time job. It's actually proving to be difficult to manage it and socialising is about a teenager talking to young children about a special interest.

That's correct - It isn't means tested. The only changes that need to be reported are:
You must contact the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) enquiry line if:
your personal details change, for example your name, address or doctor
the help you need or your condition changes
your condition has worsened and you’re not expected to live more than 12 months
you go into hospital or a care home
you plan to go abroad for more than 4 weeks
you’re imprisoned or held in detention
your immigration status has changed, if you’re not a British citizen
0800 121 4433 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
The money situation - you could contact someone like Stepchange. They're a free financial advice based company. You can find their details online, for whatever way you wish to contact them.

Thanks Chris, just to clarify, the assessor asked about work during the assessment and I mentioned the summer job but can't remember if I mentioned tutoring too. It's a part-time occasional work as a student at Uni which is not likely to last very long. The interview was long and confusing. If I understood properly, if I forgot to mention it during the assessment, it's not gonna be an issue as PIP is not means tested.

Hi Brenda
I would not worry about it, what you need to do is contact PIP and ask for a copy of the assessors report called a PA4. The report will give you the heads up on how well you did or did not do at the assessment.
