My mental health condition stops me from engaging with them. Also I wanted to close my claim with them prior to this. Does anyone know if closing a claim under review (with UCR ) agent cancels following phone appointments? This is not an investigation with compliance team or fraud team. it's with UCR agent. Does anyone know of their protocol at this stage?

Hi

I have a quick question UC have asked for my bank statements but it’s from a closed account. I have contacted the bank asking for those statements as they were online statements. UC only gave me two to provide them with the statements and now they have stopped my payments and are calling me tomorrow! What do I do and say to them? As I can’t do anything until I get those statements from the bank.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as I have a child to look after and I was on LCWRA and housing benefits.

Hi Lee,

I had this same thing happen to me, and it was a nightmare because the bank couldn't find any information on a closed account to help me, and also, I couldn't find any paperwork relating to the closed account. It took me many months to get this sorted, but I managed to get a letter from my new bank, showing the money transferred from my old bank, which covered this request.

My money was stopped for nearly 2 months whilst this happened, and they frozen my account and said there was nothing they could do, until proof of the account was provided. So I would try the above - if this is possible, maybe even download statements form your current bank - but Virgin Money was the ones I had huge problems with them not being able to help me.

I know it's not the news that you want to hear, so if this is likely causing you a problem with your funds, I would see if you can ask them for an advanced loan until the situation is rectified.
