WCA was created by Brian
As a registered carer with DWP for my wife who gets pip high rates for her conditions can the DWP make me have a WCA? I foolishly updated my health conditions with them and it’s opened this can of worms as I was previously told by my work coach I wasn’t expected to look for work due to my caring role ( unfortunately can’t find any evidence of this it was over 4 years ago )

Hi Brian

As a full time carer, then you do not have to look for work.

To get the LCWRA element in your joint UC claim then your wife will have to apply for the WCA, in a joint claim you cannot have two LCWRA's awarded, I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation, they will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration; advicelocal.uk .
