Hello it’s good news so the message is don’t despair,I had my pip assessment in may and was awarded zero points , I asked for a reconsideration ,and I provided details of my esa medical done 2 months before and spent a lot of time reading your advice on this site and provided a solid case, I’ve been granted both areas of pip again ( great news) it states we will not be able to pay you after 2030 ,,, are they giving awards out for 10 years now? My other was reviewed after 3 years

Congratulations on getting the Decision revised.

Are you sure that it says "we will not be able to pay you after 2030" as this is not a phrase I would expect to see on a Decision Letter.

If it is a ten year award then it should say that there is an end date in 2029 and that they will look at your claim in 2018.

If it is an On-Going award then there should be no end date and it should say that they will look at it sometime after 2029.

Hello Gordon, I have received 2 letters from DWP dated 1 day apart, first letter does read I can’t award you pip from may 2030, then the other letter reads I can award you pip from may 2019 to may 2030 ,it then states they will contact me after may 2029 to see if my needs have changed, so can I safely think I have got a 10 year award? Which is great news ( I just can’t see any point why they should send 2 letters out

If one says "can't" and one says "can" then it sounds as if the DM did not proof check one of the letters before it was sent for printing and the mistake was only picked up later.

I would still check with the DWP that a ten year or On-Going award is in place and which it is.

You can request a copy of the ESA assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim but there are limited crossovers between ESA and PIP, there is a document in the PIP area that covers this.
