In my opinion, this could be the cause of the problem. DWP would probably assume that you had suddenly come into a large amount of money (so that you could buy a house). This will be particularly relevant if you claim an income-related benefit.

Living in the house should not be a problem, but if there was a period of time where you had ownership of the house and were not living in it then it might effect your ESA if you are receiving Income Related ESA in part or in whole. If this is the case then get face to face advice.

I moved into the house a couple of days after it was gifted to me and the title deeds were changed into my name. At the same time.

I get contributions based at the moment. I hv been on esa contributions based for a year. I also get dla and disability premium.
