PIP Result ! was created by hnkb43
I have had a hearing disability since my teens, and am now in my 50's.Up until now I've managed to be in full time employment but 2 years ago when my hearing deteriorated quite considerably I had to reduce my hours. Now I am on long term sick leave. About 9 months ago a friend suggested applying for PIP. Having looked at various forum, it was quite clear that it would be an uphill battle to qualify for PIP but I applied. The medical assessment was fine, I was able to provide a lot of written supporting evidence, i.e. audiologist results, supporting letters from GP and Audiologist, Access to Work reports, application and acceptance letter regarding my Hearing Dog application. The assessment nurse indicated my case was black and white and that I had provided lots of 'hard' evidence, which the decision makers liked.
The 'brown envelope' appeared in the post; I had been awarded 2 points ! My mandatory review request increased my points to 4 ! So using your template to request Tribunal, I was prepared for the fight.
Last week, completely unexpected, I received another'brown envelope'. This time the letter said I no longer had to attend a Tribunal. A paper review had awarded me 8 points, thereby qualifying for the PIP daily rate until September 2022.
So thank you so much for your information, guidance and help from the website. Please, please, if you have a severe/profound hearing loss, don't be put off from applying for PIP. With perseverance and help from BandW, you too might just succeed.
