THANK YOU to all the people on this site who have HELPED me through the Long DLA to PIPS journey.
Starting from 0 points, I have TODAY ACCEPTED 11 and 14 points
Now look forward to a large Back Pay and GETTING MY LIFE BACK !!!
If you have just found out you have 0 points, I hope my message will encourage you to fight back and get the points your entitled to.
Special thanks to Gordon, Mrs Hurtyback and all the people I have engaged with.
Good Luck to all.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thanks for letting us know what you have decided. I totally understand your reasons and hope you will be able to forget about DWP for a long while!

I was awarded 0 points for everything and I was on high rate dla for both which has left me flabbergasted. I have just had letter for tribunal but they have picked a venue 60 miles away with no parking and told me nearest parking is 500 metres so I can't go. Apparantly there is nowhere
nearer or even in the same County as me! so basicially i'm stuffed will just have to send in a statement but I would have preferred face to face..... well done to you.

Well done!
So did the DWP just change their offer or did you end up getting to the tribunal stage?

Well done, it's so satisfying when you get what you deserve.
I have my PIP review tomorrow, face to face at my home. Last time I got the standard rate living allowance and nothing for the mobility part, even though I had a life changing event happen to me, ie. 2 spinal fractures due to osteoporosis, 5 days spent in hospital and let out to look after myself when the hospital knew I had no support network of any sorts, 8 weeks in a back brace and to this day, I struggle everyday...... its been a very long hard 2 years since that happened to me, since then have had another fracture in my spine....at my initial review (last time I went to an assessment place) I was very conservative, tried to make things sound better than they actually were, I was in denial, refused to accept what had happened to me, over exaggerated how I was coping etc. didnt want to admit defeat, was embarrassed about claiming a benefit, when I work full time, when I was actually in need of lots of help, moving around and generally mobility, getting out and about etc.
At my visit tomorrow, I will be telling all as I have now realised that its not worth trying to make things sound better than they really are just because you cant accept how a life changing event can impede on your life and how you live it....I have since learnt that the benefit is there for a reason, for people like you and for me.......
Wish me luck.......

Hi
all i can say to you is FIGHT and get as many people involved as you can i.e doctors, consultants, social workers OT anyone who knows you and you medical history.
We were much the same, and have gone now to the court of appeal and have all of the above and its been sent today by our social worker (adult health) and we will see what comes back.
W e are just hopping they see and take in the situation, as he was on high rate of dla for both and has been given standard rate on plp, its a huge worry and a lot of stress but i would still fight for it!
Good luck to you and hope you get what you should have:))x
