To add to advice already given.
You do give some thought as to whether your attending will undermine your case, for example; if you suffer from Social Anxiety and you travelled to the hearing on your own this would definitely raise red flags with the panel.

mickymick wrote: please can you tell me how harrowing the face to face tribunal is please as I have been given no points and I know it's very incorrect but the PIP people have now made me feel that they don't believe me, I feel absolutely offended and very upset about this, I am trying to decide wether to go to a face to face or a paper tribunal. Well done to you I am genuinely very pleased for you, it's like a living hell isnt it
At best the questioning at a Tribunal will be robust at worst it will feel like an interrogation, I really don't want to turn you off to the idea, but it is something that you must consider as part of your decision to attend.
However, by attending and answering the panel's questions you are going to have the best chance of winning your appeal.

Gordon is so right. If you do have the opportunity of having someone with you that would be great. The worst feeling for me was actually getting there, I was extremely anxious and was in two minds not to attend at the last minute because of the way I was feeling on the day. The face to face extremely robust but at least you are given that opportunity to let the Tribunal panel know how your disability effects you. I was given plenty of time to explain everything and didn't feel rushed or pressured.
Don't be put off, you have got this far and have all the support from everyone on this forum. All the best and thank you.
