ESA interview letter arrived AFTER interview was created by Optimist?
Hi my first post,
thanks for your help with filling in the ESA50 which is why I signed up for this site and forum.
Now they have called me in for an interview. Despite great difficulty getting around they now want me to go to an "assessment with a healthcare professional".
I missed the appointment due to the late arrival of the interview letter
The date on the letter says the 12th November. I live in "the postcode that does not exist", even my driving license has no postcode on it as the DVLA could not confirm it despite it being on my application form. This leads to a lot of issues with mail. I did not receive it until the 28th November. Sadly my appointment was on the 24th November. I do not know what to do now. Is that it? (do I start all over again?) or do I just phone to make another appointment?
Also the assessment centre is a very long way from way from my home. About an hour on Public Transport. Can I request an assessment at home? Given the information they have had about my mobility I think this would be fair. I cannot afford to travel by taxi.
Last question will my benefits have been stopped due to this?
As I suppose a lot of people do I feel very fatalistic and depressed at the prospect of all this. I lived abroad for a while and cannot believe how this country has changed.
Thank you for any information that might help me.

You need to ring immediately and explain.
You are entitled to another appointment but they may have already put a stop on your claim due to no show.
You can request a home assessment but you need your GPs support in the form of a letter.
You could check to see if there is a centre nearer you and request an appointment here instead.
A lot of people on here are finding they are being offered appointments at centres further from their home than necessary. It may be a tactic to test your entitlement through making a demanding journey to the centre.
