This is really something that only you can decide upon!

Being an appointee is not necessarily something that is relevant to a Tribunal although it is something that they will consider, if you are hoping that this will excuse your wife having to attend then this may not be the case, you would still need to contact the court about this.

Also, it is something that the DWP will have to agree to and I would expect them to come an interview you and your wife to understand what her difficulties are and whether she is unable to manage her affairs.
