Yes. It needs to explain in great detail how you are affected

Hi j235,
Just read your previous topic : Here.
Yes they have !
You should be aware that with both ESA and PIP, it is not the medical condition/s in themselves that may or may not result in an award.
Moreover, it is the limitations/disabilities that you suffer as a result of the medical conditions, and whether you either score the requisite minimum 15 points for ESA WRAG, or fulfil at least one of ESA Support Group (SG) Descriptors for ESA SG, or if none of those, under ESA Reg 29 for WRAG and/or ESA Reg 35 for SG.
See : Qualifying for the WRAG
Qualifying for the Support Group
The Functional WRAG (LCW)Schedule 2 Descriptors
The Functional SG (LCWRA) Schedule 3 Descriptors
ESA Reg 29 for entry to The WRAG (LCW)
PLUS Post 28/01/13 Amendment of :
(3) Paragraph (2)(b) does not apply where the risk could be reduced by a significant amount by—
(a)reasonable adjustments being made in the claimant’s workplace;
or
(b)the claimant taking medication to manage the claimant’s condition where such medication has been prescribed for the claimant by a registered medical practitioner treating the claimant.”.

&
ESA Reg 35 for entry to The SG (LCWRA)
All this is explained in our : ESA Claims Guides
Which Gordon has previously provided a link for.
See also : ESA MR/Appeals Guidance.
With PIP your resulting limitations and care needs have to score you enough points with the applicable Descriptors from the appropriate Activities for a Standard or Enhanced Daily Living and/or Mobility Award.
8 Points for Standard and 12 points for Enhanced.
See : How PIP Points Scoring System Works.
PIP Self Test
PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link down the page)
PIP MR/Appeals Guidance.
&
Disability Rights UK Factsheet - Appeals and Mandatory Reconsiderations.
As with all medical conditions, the limitations suffered may differ from one person to another, so knowing that other members who suffer with ME/CFS have qualified for ESA and/or PIP is not really that helpful.
It's how your limitations/disabilities affect you that is important, and tying those limitations in with the appropriate ESA and/or PIP Activities/Descriptors.
There are some guides for : Welfare Benefits on : The Action for ME Website.

Hope this helps !
