I'm not sure of the relevance of this, but it 'may' be of interest to the mods and site.

My partner has had three PIP assessments cancelled. The phone call from Capita comes from a private number, whereby the appointment is cancelled and a new appointment is made. Some days later a letter is received confirming the new appointment time.

Nothing unusual in that; however, the last time the appointment was cancelled, we were told someone from Capita would contact us. Fast forward a week and we missed three telephone calls (due to hospital appointments) from three unique numbers, which when searched appear to emanate from, or linked to, Capita offices in various places across the UK. The next communication from Capita came in a letter with a new appointment - rather than another telephone call.

On the top of the first three appointment letters, it says "Thank you for your claim for PIP, Your consultation appointment....will be at the following place". The pre-paid reply letter enclosed was addressed back to Capita Darlington.

On the top of the recent appointment letter whereby we missed the telephone calls, it says "We have looked at the information related to your application for PIP, To complete your assessment, we will need to meet you face-to-face. The pre-paid reply letter enclosed with this letter was addressed back to Mail Handling Site at Wolverhampton.

In the last instance, It could be someone was calling from Capita to collect further information, or it could be nothing. It may even highlight a new procedure, or indeed, already be an established procedure. Either way, I thought it may be useful for the mods and site owners.
