I just got a letter from the Tax Credits with a S1285 attached. I am a lady of 61 who lives with a male friend. I know how the locals perceive us and I am fed up of saying he's not my partner. We are friends and have had no romatic or financial arrangement since 2001. Before that we were partners for a couple of years. It looks like the want to class us as a couple which we are not in any sense of the word and the wording on the letter is very scary. Can anyone help please.
