I guess this has been asked before, but I seem unable to access past messages for some reason.

Currently I receive DLA and ESA (Work related activity group) and live in Bristol. If I move to Hertfordshire to look after my elderly mother would I likely have to make a new claim for either or both, or be reassessed etc.

I am concerned that in the past it has taken support and legal rights workers to successfully win my appeals. I always fear that my bundle of ailments might be judged borderline.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Zoe,

Moving house, even to another area, should not trigger a reassessment - unless it changes your circumstances in other ways. To take an extreme example, someone who has needed 24 hour attention and then moved to live on their own.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
