DLA - LETTER SAYING ITS CONTINUED INDEFINITELY was created by Rosiebud
Today I received a letter saying I would continue to get DLA. I am 66 and have had DLA since 1997 - tribunal, appeals etc but always won my case, past few years thanks to B & W.
I was not over 65 in April 2014 when they started PIPS so did not automatically get DLA continued. I was however granted lifelong status.
The letter does NOT mention PIPs - it just said that I would get DLA and it would continue.
I didnt phone as I dont want to rock the boat. I live in Scotland and wonder if that has anything to do with it.
Why out of the blue would they send this letter.?????? Anyone else get a letter like this?

They are under extreme pressure to get people sorted.
Perhaps they're using this as a way to get a few more people 'off the books' so to speak.

Yes that makes sense but why didnt they say anything about my being exempt from PIPS if thats the case. I want to phone but I'm scared that will put me 'on the books'.

I think we need to be clear, the PIP Transitional Regulations which define the transfer of DLA claimants to PIP have not been amended to remove or change the requirement to invite all DLA claimants who were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 to claim PIP.

Thanks Gordon, the letter must have been sent in error then so I will just leave it and wait til I get called up for PIPS. It just didn't make sense to me, no reason to send me a letter at all.
