Just a thought about the potential of ESA and PIP being merged as mentioned in your news article.
Does this mean that if someone was awarded an indefinite or 10 year award for PIP that their ESA would also run for 10 year or for an indefinite time period? Presumably, if there is only test that would be the case?
Or could it be a worse scenario , where long term PIP recipients could be tested every 3 years to coincide with the maximum test period of ESA?

As this idea put forward by IDS is pure speculation at this time, we have no idea how such a system would operate, if it is ever brought in.
