Due to financial difficulties I have had to apply for a small occupational pension consisting of about £14k & £40week.
Do I have to tell the DwP about this & will this effect the ESA I receive. I'm in the support group. I think I'm on contribution based.
Many thans
Yes, you need to tell the DWP, however, if you are only receiving Contribution Based ESA then it should not effect your ESA as savings are not considered and the £40 per week pension is under the £85 that would result in a reduction.
If your ESA is Income Related or you receive it as a top-up to your ESA(CB) then it will be reduced £ for £ by the income and if your savings have now exceed £16,000 then the ESA(IR) payments will be stopped.
