Hello All,
Wonder if you can advise please? I'm in receipt of PIP, but have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and told I will need new knees! Should I update DWP on this diagnosis, or just wait until next time I am invited to reapply?
Many thanks

Does the diagnosis reflect a deterioration in your condition or did you have these problems when you were assessed, just no diagnosis? If it does then you should think about contacting the DWP, however, the first thing to consider is whether the change is sufficient to result in a Mobility award if you do not currently have one, or an increased award if you do.
If you are already receiving an Enhanced Mobility award then any deterioration cannot result in an increased award for Mobility so you are under obligation to contact them.
You should also give some though as to whether any reduction in mobility would effect your ability to perform any of the Daily Living activities.
Any improvement in your condition has to be reported to the DWP.
Reporting a change will result in a re-assessment of your current claim.
