On DWP letters, you get an address on the top right corner. At least for ESA. Usually a benefit office address or mail handing address.
How come the address is different from the job centre that I originally started the claim in?
I have not moved in all the time I have claimed.
The only change being the transition from IB to ESA.
The address is located in a completely different county. For example: You live in Nottingham but the office is listed as Coventry.
- I have noticed on a friends ESA letter, that they have a weirdly located benefits office on the top right, different to mine despite living in the same city as me.
It doesn't help that both departments use the same headed paper!
The simple way to think about it is the DWP are the people who do all of the management of your claim (e.g. new claims and renewals), their offices do not need to be near you, as they each cover a large regional area and Job Centre Plus (JC+) are the people who deal with the all the activities you need to do as part of your claim (e.g. WFIs WRA and Job Seeking), their offices will be local to you or in a nearby town.
