Hello

I have been claiming ESA for a few months and have missed my medical interview because I don't feel like I can attend the job centre to do this. I suffer from anxiety and depression and attending this interview seems really hard for me to come to terms with.

How do I go about getting the interview at home?

Hi M,

If the "medical interview" that you refer to is actually your ESA face to face assessment carried out by : The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA) (Maximus) who took over the ESA WCA Contract from ATOS on 02/03/15., you need to be very careful.

If you fail to attend an ESA face to face twice without showing "Good Cause" you can be found fit for work on a technicality and your ESA payments will cease.

It can then be very difficult to get payment of ESA reinstated, and may mean that you have to appeal to The Tribunal Service as you will see from : This Member's Topic.

You need to contact Maximus (CHDA) to try and rearrange the assessment.

If you feel that your limitations dictate that you should receive a Home Assessment, you need to put this to Maximus ASAP.

They will probably insist that your G.P. Faxes them with a letter supporting the need for a Home Assessment, giving reasons.
