DLA and ESA claim was created by susie
I am currently receiving the higher rate of DLA together with the medium care element. Following a series of health issues I recently took early retirment from work, with a view to getting another job with less hours and stress. However after making this decision I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I retired whilst on sick leave at the end of July. My gp has signed me off until mid November and it as been confirmed I can get esa until then. I now have to complete the assessment. My DLA award was renewed until the middle of next year. Could any information be used to check when it comes to my application for renewal next year and does anyone cross check the information?
Any advice would help as I am rayher confused and as I am going through the cancer treatment quite stressed.

If you are in the UK mainland then I would expect your DLA renewal to actually result in an invitation to claim PIP.

If you are asking whether any ESA assessment report can be used by or the DWP in regard to your DLA/PIP renewing next year then the simple answer is yes, however, it will only be relevant in areas where there are crossovers between the benefits.

Sorry to have taken so long to respond but I have been undergoing cancer treatment and not felt well enough to visit the forum. I am now feeling better and having to resubmit the assessment questionnaire after originally filling in the first part only relating to my cancer treatment, but the DWP have 'lost' the form. So I am now going to complete in full with the details of my other physical health and disability problems.
