Fixed term DLA claimants reapplying for DLA not

Just read a very interesting posting for this forum confirming what I had heard had been gong on covertly ,directed by the DWP in order to disguise true PIP waiting tines/backlogs/dexams. Apparently what has been going on is that DLA claimants bon fixed term awards have had their fixed terms extended.
Moreover ,when the claimant did reapply eventually it was for DLA again and NOT PIP.DWP motives?
Very clearly they simply cannot cope with the Admin workload in i most regions of the country and then do not use these renewed DLA claims in the PIP statistics in order to make it look like the backlog is being cleared by "four times as my staff that they had in 2014".
The posting I refer b to was nay 2015 ie this year and recently too.
So DWP are spinning are the notr Re PIP .
It is very clear that their vision to reassess all 4.8 Million claimants of DLA to PIP byb2018 is well somewhat ambitious.
Are there other people who have had a similar experience is being v asked to reapply for DLA and not PIP or had their DLA fixed term award extended?

Hi JR,
I really don't understand why you keep pushing the issue that all current applicable DLA recipients will not be transferred over to PIP as suggested by The DWP !
I have previously agreed that I do not think that DWP will hit their deadline of completing all DLA to PIP transfers by 2018 in : your other topic.
Not all Postcodes on the UK mainland were "PIP Active" until recently, so it is quite feasible that a claimant in receipt of a fixed term DLA award would be reassessed for DLA rather than PIP if their Postcode was not "PIP Active" at the time that they received their "Renewal Forms" !
You should take into account that DLA "Renewal Forms" were normally issued some 16 to 20 weeks before the end of a fixed term DLA award.
So it is possible that you have read of members being reviewed for DLA rather than PIP on the forum this year, i.e. in 2015.
Personally, I think that DWP would want to transfer as many fixed term DLA awards over to PIP as they could get away with, as in many respects the PIP qualifying criteria is much stricter than that of DLA.
Only a couple of days ago : Here, we see a member who received DLA renewal forms, returned them on time, and is now being told that they will be reviewed under PIP criteria !!!
I am afraid that your discussions will not change the fact that DLA to PIP transfers have already started for some DLA recipients with Indefinite Awards who live in selected Postcodes, and the national roll-out will continue.
See : Timetable for PIP replacing DLA.
One can only prepare as best one can for when their time comes.
Only time will tell regarding whether DWP will fulfil their target date or not.
As I have stated, I suspect that they won't !!

Yes there may have been a time lag in all this.As you correctly
Point out DLA to PIP b already begun in designated postcodes for indefinite award claimants
Wonder if the DWP have Firstly selected 3000 Claimants who have turned 65 since April 2013 in these selected postcodes?
The DWP claimed they would "invite" the over 65s in this group to present themselves for reasssment first.Have they selected them instead then?
Also,I think that there is a real danger(because of Admin overload) that the indefinite DLA to PIP process will be streamlined in order for the DWP tofrantically get the whole thing sorted byb2018. This will either mean that a certain degree of "Rubber stamping "of indefinite DLA to PIP transfer will happen ,or more likely DLA claimants will not be correctly and fairly reassessed because of a rushed and botched approach by DWP ATOS whoever. We shall see hey.Anyway Thankyou for taking the trouble to respond to my posting.
Clearly there are a lot of un answered questions on the part of thecDWP as they obviously don't really know how all of this is going to pan out ,and when that panning will be complete.
Thankyou Bro
Yo Bro,Keep it real, and kick on

Just had a message from that DLA claimant whose DLA had expired in May this year 2015 and had been invited to reapply for DLA not PIP possibly because their area hadn't been converted to PIP new claims /fixed DLA ward to PIP yet.Anyway the person tells me (via email )that on reapplying for DLA in May 2015 ,they got a reply in two weeks, telling them that their DLA award was going to be until 2020!!!!!!
How interesting is that .This very much suggests v to me that the DWP do not appear confident in meeting their "All done and dusted deadline "by Early 2018.
Thus very much tips up with what you think Bro.Re the DWP meeting the 2018 deadline.
Just thought you might be interested to glean some first hand evidence of the ongoing Chaos of the DLA /PIP machinery
Yo Bro.
Kick on
Many Thanks ,
JR
