As the longer you leave the knee op it is better for me as i am only 57 however i was put on dla indefinite due to cognitive impairment, spinal and knee problems only in april this year my question is when they call me for the medical is it better to be waiting for the operation on the waiting list or should i get it done before, as you know i am due to br re-evaluated within the next 2 years and like everyone and worried stiff hearing about all these losing there benefit thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum.
Can I ask you not to post in upper case as it causes problems for members with sight problems.
I don't think there is a good answer to this, the things you will need to consider in order to make a Decision include;
- not having the op may mean that you have to report a Change of Circumstances after, shortening any PIP award and opening your claim to re-assessment.
- having it now, would likely require a Change of Circumstances on your DLA claim resulting in an early invitation for PIP.
- having the op may mean that you do not qualify for mobility, although one would hope that this would be because you are then able to walk without problem.
- the expectation that the op will be done may limit the length of any award in anticipation of a recovery
You of course need to factor in the potential benefits to you personally and the pain of not doing so.
