Pip Trbunal hearing what do i need to do was created by capduncan
hi my girlfriend has CFS and we have had a real headache with PIP.
We are now due to go to the tribunal at the end of the month.
I have done the mandorty reconsideration and sated the points I think we should score and the reasons why.
We have got a letter form the consultant and the doctor our GP.
I am going to write a short letter of support in which I will say how CFS has affected my girlfriend.
I am going to send in a document which describes the symptoms of CFS.
Do I need to go over the HP report and sate why I disagree with the answers that she has given?
If so do I do this in the same way as I did for the mandatory reconsideration?
Thanks

Your primary task is to show that your girlfriend meets the criteria for a PIP award, you should do this be explaining her problems in relation to each of the PIP Descriptors that you/she thinks that she meets, you should explain the issues that she has when performing the activities with reference to her evidence as you can.
There are many reasons she may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"
than their opinions
"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.
Go through the PIP Claim guide, her PIP2 form and the assessor report to see what you need to clarify or address, there is a guide to writing submissions in the PIP section.
