dla to pip brought forward was created by micksville
Forgive me if Im missing something here but news section reports indefinite dla claims are from 13th July bding brought forward in pip schedule for testing purposes in certain postcodes.I am not in said postcodes but wonder why, if theyre testing the communication process, letters and phone calls etc....why would that process be any different from those on fixed term dla awzrds whom the dwp have been testing when their awards end? I can see no logic in this and wonder if moderators can shed any light on it.

Hi Micksville,

The point of the news item was to inform members that the process of migrating those on indefinite DLA awards to PIP has started earlier than originally intended.

If that is not what you were asking, please post again and we will do our best to help.

Understood but it just strikes me as odd...it suggests the object is that dwp can test the communication process i.e. leters and phone calles etc. I just dont see, other than perhaps altering the openjng paragraph how a letter informing yoh that youre invitec to claim pip as youf fixed term dla award is about to end can be much different than communicating to you that you are being transferred from indefinite dla award to pip and that the process has started. Why should they even need to test that commjnjcation process? Just puzzled me as to whats so diffbdrdng to what theyve been doing with fixed tetm claimants.

On this same subject, I'm in the first round of postcodes specified for PIP migrating from DLA for indefinite awards. Will the practice 3000 claimants come from these postcodes? So, in other words, there'll be just 3000 from 13/7 to October from these postcodes or will the 3000 be in addition to a full roll out from the north west postcodes.

Thanks for your help.

two points

- Unfortunately we are not privy to DWP policy

- you are assuming that it is a statement of reason rather than an excuse for a change in policy

:)

I'm afraid that we have no more information than the statement by the minister, as we understand things it will just be 3000 claimants from July, we assume that a broader roll out will start in the coming months.
