Can I request a copy of the health assessor's report following my PIP medical. I was awarded standard rate for both components, I believe that I should have qualified for enhanced living component but I am unsure whether or not to ask them to reconsider as I don't want to lose the standard rate altogether (I was only given 8 points) I want to see what the assessor put about me.
Also I am about to send of my ESA 50, is it a good idea to quote on the form that I have been awarded mobility i.e. I can stand and then move using aid or appliance more than 20 meters but no more than 50 meters (10) points.
There should be no problem with you requesting the PIP report, phone the DWP office that dealt with your claim and make the request, I would advise you to follow it up in writing.
You can certainly reference the fact that you were assessed as only being able to walk 20m-50m for PIP, but please be aware that the ESA test is for Mobility so you would also need to show that you cannot self-propel a manual wheelchair over an equivalent distance to meet the ESA requirement. You do not need to use a wheelchair or even to own one for it's usage to be considered, as long as the DWP can show that any usage is reasonable it will be considered.
