Hello everybody. Im new in forum so sorry for any wrong entrances etc.
Im 31 and suffer from ulcerative colitis, anklosing spondylitis and had episod of MS in the past.
I phoned DWP today and been told I was refused pip. Man on the phone said " you been refused on the form" .what that mean? Not enough points in their poin system?
I gave them all evidence on the assesment- diagnosis and support letters from my gp and therapist.
I have not give them any evidence back in september 2014 when I made claim.
could they refuse me becouse form I filled in september 2014 was not completed in all the details and not enough information in the form?
what should I do now?
I claim ESA for 18 months and my sick notes are 6 months when I get them.
please help me if anyone can let me know what to do next. My situation is difficult, I have two kids , wife but she can not work. I can not even look after my boys its to demanding.
My life changed since my ilnesses apears. First I was fighting with it but its been 4 years and I dont see hope untill there will be tretment for me. Now Im prisoner of the tramadol, cant take atntyinflamatories and anti TNF.please help.

Unlike ESA a Decision can be made on a PIP claim based on the form and any evidence attached, there is no requirement for an assessment to be held.
You have two options going forward, you can appeal this Decision and/or make a new claim for PIP.
As you joined B&W after you completed your PIP form. I would start by having a good read of our PIP Claim guide in conjunction with your PIP form to see whether to issue is one of presentation or is more an issue of your not meeting the criteria,
If you think that you do meet the criteria then the first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process and template letters that you can use to make the request with.

You should contact the DWP for a copy of the assessment report if you have not already done so, there will one even though you did not have an actual assessment, I would phone them but again follow up the request in writing. Once you have the assessment report you will have a better understanding of how the DWP Decision Maker has come to their conclusions and will then be able to argue against them.
Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"
than their opinions
"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.
When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.
