Many Support Group people are getting letters 'inviting' them to a work focused interview, chats with job coaches or other ‘helpers’.
Another type of ‘invite’ suggests that the job centre need to check you’re getting the right amount of benefit they advise you to take in bank statements and other documents.
I always understood that people in the Support Group could refuse to attend these interviews, but a CAB manager recently said that the regulations are being changed to allow these interviews to be compulsorary once a year for ESASG claimants
As advised, you can challenge them to ascertain exactly "what" the interview is pertaining to, and whether it is Mandatory or Voluntary.
You can then make an informed decision on whether to attend.
