ESA Evaluation after medical was created by buzz3
Has this changed at all recently? I had a medical this week and received a call from someone at DWP to book another phone call next week to discuss my medical with their assessor. I was not expecting anything of this sort.

Hi b3,
This call from The DWP could be for 2 or 3 different reasons.
1. It could be some form of audit of the assessor who carried out the "medical", which involved your feedback, that being the case, I have not heard of this before.
2. It could be that The DWP ESA DM is considering finding you fit for work as a result of the assessors recommendations, and is ringing you to see whether you can provide any further oral evidence that may change their mind.
I would prepare for this scenario, as best you can.
You could have any pertinent arguments ready that show that you are not fit for work.
3. There is a slight chance they are simply ringing you to give you a positive decision.
If your have the facility, you could covertly record the conversation for future reference.
You do not have to discuss anything over the phone if you don't wish to, you can ask them to put it in writing.
However, if it is option 2. above, it may be in your best interests to take part in the call.
Please return to update us after the phone call.

Hi b3,
Just noticed your statement :
" to discuss my medical with their assessor."
Are you sure it was DWP and not : The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA) (Maximus) who took over the ESA WCA Contract from ATOS on 02/03/15.
If it is Maximus, they do not make decisions.
