I have just been turned down for PIP

I have just been turned down for PIP was created by Brenda
I have been awarded 2 points under the category for toilet needs.
My husband & Drs have put together more information to support a Mandatory Reconsideration.
We are challenging the term 'therapy' I have to be catheterised up to 4 times a day and also have assistance to use the Peristeen Irrigation System. If I do not have these my health gets worse & I end up in hospital. Can the Decision Maker ignore this as therapy (as they did) and say they are a toilet need? My Drs say they are both but is this allowed?
My mental health now is really bad and I am under the care of the crisis team. This will be extra evidence because I have been in a state of denial to try and cope.
I don't know how much more evidence we should send in. The GP & Mental Health Team will be sending in reports.
Any advice would be helpful. The assessment was awful because the computer systems weren't working which meant the HP couldn't read my information. We felt that she spent the whole time trying to find everything out - this made the day to day bit very rushed. At the end she made a comment about my shoes saying they looked very expensive!
I don't know what to do. I have been trying to work but can't at the moment.
Thanks

Therapy is defined in the PIP legislation as

“Therapy” means therapy to be undertaken at home which is prescribed or recommended by a—
(a) registered –
(i) doctor;
(ii) nurse; or
(iii) pharmacist; or
(b) health professional regulated by the Health Professions Council

There is also a definition for Managing Therapy

“Manage medication or therapy” means take medication or undertake therapy, where a failure to do so is likely to result in a deterioration in your health.

so you should base your arguments around these.

You should also have a look at the PIP Claim guide for a detailed understanding of what the criteria are and how the DWP view these.
