Hi s,

The OT may well say that you should be in receipt of MR Care DLA, but are they aware that the qualifying criteria for DLA and PIP are totally different ?

If you have Indefinite DLA Award/s you will be invited to claim PIP sometime (at random) between October 2015 and October 2017.

If you request a review of your current DLA award/s before being invited, you will be reassessed under PIP criteria, and there will be no going back to DLA once you make the request.

Unlike DLA which has Lower, Middle and Higher rates of Care & Mobility, PIP only has Standard and Enhanced rates for "both".

It is only a decision that you can make.

Have a look at our : PIP Self Test

&

Our : PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link on page)

Something else to be aware of, if you do request a review, and receive a "better" PIP award, it will only be payable from the date of the new PIP decision, there is no backdating to the time that you requested the review.
