Pleased to see you all still doing such fine work I been unable to look on your site due to ill health, but that not what I wanted to say , afriend of mine has just had dla to pip transfer without medical when she phoned them to ask about her claim they said they had also used the fact she in support group of esa , not that she complaining she just wondered why on earth you haveto go through all the claim form and then they do that.?

Any report from their ESA claim would only have been used to support a Decision to award PIP, the primary Decision would have still been based on their form and evidence, whatever the DWP might say.
Whilst it is a positive thing when reports from other benefits are used to make an award, we also have to remember that if the reverse was allowed, which I stress it is not, then a lot of people would likely be denied benefits.

I thought that , like you say it very important to fill in pip form as best you can I will pass what you say on as her award not indefinite . Thank you

They can but they don't have to as there is only limited overlap between the two benefits, it's not really possible to estimate how often this is done from what we see on the forum, but the usage is quite rare.

PIP did use the report from my ESA for my pip application, the lady at pip told me when I asked for the address to send further information, my result was good as told previously.
