Assessment Phase ESA was created by batgirl
Hi, my hubby have been on the Assessement Phase ESA since June 2014. He is still waiting for a face to face medical and he has just recieved a letter from the DWP to say his benefit is going to stop in July because the 365 days is up, is this correct? I thought he would get it until he had the medical and a decision was made. Also has anyone got the number for Maximus please so I can phone them to see how long he has to wait.
Any help would be gratefully accepted

It sounds as if your husband is receiving Contribution Based ESA. ESA(CB) is only payable for 365 days if the claimant is not in the Support Group.

You should contact the DWP to see whether they can prioritise your husband's assessment so that it is done before his payments stop.

You should also check whether you would be entitle to payments of Income Related ESA. ESA (IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that you work. See

Asset rule for ESA(IR)

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

If you are then payments will continue after your husbands ESA(CB) ceases.
