Ive thought of another question!

As stated, Ive been put into WRAG and I know there are certain mandatory activities which will take place in the fullness of time.

However, I am due to go into Hospital, either late Oct 2015 or early Nov 2015, for a 2nd Total Knee Replacement. This is a HORRIBLE operation, with a very lengthy recuperation, I was in Hospital nearly a week last time, completely bedridden for 5 days due to nerve damage . I am still undergoing Physio and Occupational Therapy to fully recover from the surgery.

So, my question - If I inform the DWP of the change of circumstances as I go into Hospital, are they able to look at my current claim and move me (temporarily) from WRAG to SG, without further assessments?
They are aware that the operation is pending, and that once that one is done and Im able enough then Ive got to undergo surgery on both my hands as well!
Hope that all makes sense!

Being in hospital only entitles a claimant to the WRAG rate, to be placed in the Support Group you will need to show that you meet one or more of the SG criteria, see the ESA Claim guides for details.

WELL! This has turned into an absolute farce!

I requested a copy of the Medical Report Form, which I received within 2 days. I received it, and had to double check it was mine! All decisions made without a F2F assessment, and clearly without referring to my Orthopedic Surgeon, and possibly without referring to my GP (who is on holiday at the moment so I am unable to confirm this).

APPARENTLY, I am CURRENTLY in Hospital and have had a LEFT knee replacement!
AND I don't have a "serious musculo-skeletal condition which affects my mobility".
AND the "Prognosis" is that work could be considered within 3 months.
This has all been decided by a Registered Medical Practitioner, who is also, apparently,an Approved Disability Analyst!

THE FACTS

* I was in Hospital in March for 6 days when I underwent a Total Knee Replacement on my RIGHT knee.
* I have severe degenerative Osteoarthritis in my LEFT knee, severely restricting my mobility and causing extreme pain.
* I am due to have a TKR on my LEFT knee in October/November 2015, and the minimum recommended recovery time is 12 weeks before any work-related activity takes place.
* I am due to have Surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as soon as I have recovered enough from my TKR to not need my hands to use crutches i.e Feb/March 2016.

I find it almost laughable, but at the same time an absolute disgrace that a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL cannot even tell the difference between someone currently in Hospital, and someone who is having Surgery in 2-3 months time! If they cant get the basics right, how are we supposed to have faith in the rest of their decision-making abilities?!

My fear, going forwards, is that if I request a Mandatory Reconsideration, that I may lose everything! As, according to the "HCP", I don't have a condition affecting my mobility!
For the time being, I have made a request for every document and piece of evidence used in the decision making process, along with a copy of how the scoring (if indeed any was done!) was achieved.
Can you suggest anything else? I'm about at my wits end today.....

Forgive me but you appeared to be happy with your placement in the WRAG on Monday. what has changed?

If you are look at challenging the Decision then the first thing you need to consider is whether you meet any of the Support Group criteria!

Mostly its the fact that the "Prognosis" is that I could be able to work in 3 months time, when thats actually the time Im going to be having major Surgery. Will that Prognosis be strictly adhered to, or would I just be able to continue providing "Fit" notes until Im actually able to work again, which will be a great deal longer than the 3 months stated. In other words Im not disputing the actual WRAG decision, but the likely length of time that I will be eligible for it.
Sorry if its a bit garbled, I was really rattled when I first read the report.
