OMG! PIP without a fight! was created by y_not4
6 years ago my DLA claim was rejected, reconsidered, rejected, appealed and they decided that a DWP Dr should visit the outcome being 2 years DLA followed by 5 years which ends this year.

The dreaded PIP letter arrived, I delayed before telephoning (but within the timeframe), received the form and delayed before returning (but, again within the timeframe). I then received an 'invite' to an assessment which was giving me 4 days notice!

I saw this as a bad omen but decided to just get it out of the way so went ahead. Arriving half an hour early so that I'd have time to 'compose myself' (osteoarthritis & COPD - a bundle of fun!) I was herded straight in! Spent the first half of the assessment trying to get my breathe back, refusing (politely) to make any movements which would increase the pain and answering questions like "tell me what a good day is like" with answers "I don't have good days, I either have bad days when it just hurts like hell but the med's control it or worse days when the med's don't control it! I also have days like today then, by double dosing on pain killers (twice so far today), I really don't know if it hurts or I'm on cloud nine!"

Clearly, this was going to result in a rejected claim and the usual appeal process! IT DIDNT!!!

Yesterday morning the brown envelope dropped through the letterbox telling me that it's awarded until 2021, has increased by £30 a week and no appeal!

I am unbelievably relieved by this and hope that many, many others get the same (fair) result. My only tip would be that, during the assessment, don't just do what they ask is it will cause you pain or discomfort either at the time or during the following hours/days.

Good luck to those currently claiming - I hope the same result drops through your letterbox!
