DLA Care Question was created by Bill
Hi Mods,
In our ignorance, we did not know until recently that the 'Medium' care payment (I think thats what its called) is paid for the help needed in the night times.
Can you tell us please, what kind of time is needed to be spent on 'care' in the daytime to qualify for the 'High' rate of 'care' in DLA ?
Thanks as always.

Hi B,
To receive a Middle Rate Care DLA Award, the Care should be "Reasonably Required" throughout the Day OR the Night.
e.g. Either Day or Night.
To receive a Higher Rate DLA Care Award, the Care should be "Reasonably Required" throughout the Day AND the Night.
e.g. Both Day and Night.
You do not have to actually be receiving the Care to gain a DLA Care Awards.
It is whether the Care is Reasonably Required.
This allows people who live alone to receive DLA Care Award.
