Hello Everyone,

I notice that the majority of members here seem to know how long their benefit award lasts until proposed date of re-assessment. Normally 2 years or so.

I went thru the transfer from IB to ESA, had ATOS f2f assessment October 2013, received one of those very standard letters from JCP/DWP dated Dec 2013, entitled "Your Benefit is changing to ESA" which gave the amounts and only brief mention that I had made it into the SG, this was only mentioned near the end of the letter & also in the calculations sheet at the back.
There was no mention at all of how long this was for or any mention of planned re-assessment date.

Could anyone please let me know if this means I have a standard amount of time (2yrs) or is there no way of knowing?, and what letter is it that everyone else seems to have received upon being placed into SG?

Thank you very much for any help.

Hi ik,

Claimants are not automatically informed of when they should expect reassessment. Unlike DLA, ESA is actually an open-ended award so payment will continue as it is until a decision has been made on a reassessment. In order to find out when this might be you would need to contact DWP and ask for the 'prognosis' which should be on the computer screen. Alternatively you can ask for the paperwork associated with your claim. The second link, below, will help whether or not you actually had a face2face assessment.

How often will I be reviewed

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?
