fit notes when appealing

fit notes when appealing was created by Charles Britton
After being found fit for work,and starting an appeal against that decision, will I need to continue sending medical certificates while I await the reconsideration?
Also, my current fit note covers into May. Is it still valid, or is it now null and void because of the " fit for work" decision?
nb, I won't be attempting to sign on for JSA.

If you are still in the Mandatory Reconsideration stage then there is no requirement for you to supply Fit Notes, however, if the Decision remains unchanged and you go on to appeal, then you will need to provide Fit Notes from the day after the Fit for Work Decision in order to receive payment of ESA at the Assessment Rate.
The DWP is far from clear in regard to any Fit not "hanging over" from before the Fit for Work Decision. I would recommend you get a new one to avoid any discussion over its validity.
