DLA was created by Julie
I had my DLA claim renewed last November, lower rate mobility, middle rate care indefinately.
I was over the moon with this but last week i received a letter informing me that DLA
would be changing to PIP and a medical would be mandatory. I have not been given any time scale as to when this will happen with my claim but i am so worried. I am 61. Can you advise
as to how soon this will happen. Thanks.

Hi J,
If this is the standard DLA 8 Page annual uprating letter that is being sent to DLA recipients around this time of year, I think that you may be mis-reading it.
In the first paragraph under the heading "How will we decide if you can get Personal Independence Payment ?" on Page 06 of 08 at the last 3 lines it states:
"Most people will be asked to attend a face to face consultation with a health professionals part of their claim, but this may not be needed"
As advised in our PIP Claims Guide, the more information that you provide in The PIP 2 Form, once your transfer begins, the more chance of a paper based assessment without the need of a face to face.
The number of paper based assessments have increased considerable, since PIP first started.
If you have an Indefinite DLA Award, you should not be invited to claim PIP until sometime after October 2015 running until October 2017.
You might want to read through our : PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link on page) in anticipation of being invited to claim PIP sometime in the 2 year period after October 2015.
