Double stressed!!

Hi Everyone,

I posted on here before, when I was getting myself in a state worrying about my assessment. I well, I had that on 2nd February. I've been getting so stressed, waiting for news. Today, almost 5wks later, I couldn't stand the stress anymore, and decided even if the news was bad, I'd sooner know. So, I rang the 0845 number, and spoke to a very helpful man.....who told me they haven't even received the report from Atos yet. He said they should have received it about 2 weeks ago, and he will chase them up today. I was advised to call back next week to see what's happening, and that once they receive the report it should be another 2 weeks or so until a decision is made. My initial application was made in July 2014, and I have to say it has dragged on so long, I'm getting more upset by the day!!! Does everyone have to wait this long for a decision?

Hi Amanda, I'm afraid that you are not alone, we frequently hear of people waiting this long for decisions The length of wait does not have relation to the eventual decision.

I just rang Atos, and the lady said that the report is still in their internal system, and there is a huge workload at the moment, so as soon as it's been seen, it will be processed and sent off to the DWP. She couldn't see anything else, so couldn't tell me how long it will be. So, she made everything as clear as mud for me!!!

Thank you Mrs H. I hate being such a fusspot, but it just seems such a long process. Sorry to all those others in the same boat, but I have to say it's nice to hear I'm not alone!
