ESA/PIP Reassessment was created by Mathew
Hello guys I am due to have my ESA reassessed in December 2015. I was recently award PIP until 2018 with a review to be done in mid 2017. Will my ESA result effect my PIP award if found fit for work or placed in another group other than the Support Group

I know the review dates are not set in stone, but I'd rather know what's what before the assessments happen

Hi M,

Receiving an adverse ESA award, or no award "may" have an adverse effect on an existing PIP award.

However, to do so, information within the ESA Medical Report would have to be contradictory to the limitations that gave you the existing PIP award.

As you know the qualifying crieria is different for both, e.g. PIP Moving Around is purely a "Walking Test", whereas ESA Mobilising also includes the use of a manual wheelchair unaided, etc, etc.

If you have your recent PIP Med Report, and feel that is supportive of gaining you the correct ESA award, you could use that as evidence with your ESA reassessment.

My PIP was awarded in December 2014, I have the medical report from that yes.. But I'm worried about getting further evidence from my CPN's at the hospital mental team because I have been recently having some trouble with them. My GP is 100% supportive of me so I suppose thats a good thing

Hi M,

If your G.P. is a 100% supportive, that should most certainly help, as it seems to be the exception rather than the rule these days.
