Local Service Compliance Visit was created by Sara24
Can anyone advise me please.. I had a letter telling me the dwp local service compliance officer was coming to see me. I phoned to arrange to change the date of the appointment but on the appointment day itself the officer called my mobile as he had not received my phone message request to change it (I had to be away from home for family reasons). he said he would arrange a second appointment and I am waiting to hear about that.
But.. the original letter says:
"It is essential that you are available for this visit and provide the documents requested in this letter. The interview has been arranged because your circumstance may have changed and we need to ensure your payments are correct.
When you claimed benefit you agreed to tell us immediately if the circumstances relating to your benefit entitlement changed."
Well - I am on ESA (CB) Support Group and DLA (high rate mobility, middle rate care). My question is does anyone think this visit is routine or has someone called them saying I shouldn't be getting what I get?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

A large number of our members have received similar letters or letters requesting that they attend a meeting at their local JC+ office.
There is a post explaining your options in the Spotlight area. See

It would seem that the DWP are adapting there original letter to deal with the criticism they have received.

Thanks Gordon
I am still confused. The post you directed me to says this may be random or the letter would identify what they were following up. Do you feel the wording of the letter I received indicates they are following up a "complaint"? When I spoke to them the wouldn't tell me anything and said they had to take a "statement" from me. Suffice to say I think I know who may be trying to cause me trouble, though in what way I do know. I still haven't heard about when the rearranged appointment will be and am really worried as the person I know of is malicious and manipulative and would say all sorts if she thought it would mess me up. Given I have a fluctuating condition it is difficult enough to prove how bad things are despite doctor's letters etc. Do you know if this is likely to be about my physical capabilities or about my financial situation? Sorry for all the questions but I'm in a bit of a state.
Thanks

Unfortunately there is no clear answer to this, this could easily be a standard letter that you have received as a random pick, it could be an initiative by your JC+ office to frighten and intimidate members of the Support Group or it could be because the DWP have received information about your financial circumstances that does not appear to be covered by the information they have on file. We have seen all of these reported on the forum.
If this was in regard your health problems then I would have expected them to have issued a new ESA50, so I think it likely that it will be purely concerned with your finances.
