Hi everyone,
I'm currently getting PIP and I am getting Standard Mobility and Standard care. (I can't remember the actual names)
When assessed I was one point off getting the 12 needed for the full care rate. I have recently gone for a hearing test and have been referred to a clinic as I have been told I have moderate/severe loss in my right ear and mild loss in my left ear and that I will need a hearing aid.
Looking through the descriptors it looks like I should get another two points for needed equipment for hearing when I have my hearing aid.
Do I ring PIP and will they add them on when I provide proof? Or will I have to be re-assessed, or something else?

From you previous posts your PIP award was made nearly 8 months ago, so the first question is when did you start having problems with your hearing? If you can show that it was at the time that the Decision was made on your PIP claim then you can appeal that Decision, however, even if it was, if you did not mention these problems on your original claim form then I think it very unlikely that an appeal would be successful as I would expect it to be classed as a deterioration in your conditions.
If it was after the Decision that the change took place then you can ask for your claim to be re-assessed due to a Change of Circumstances. You need to be aware that this is likely to be a full re-assessment of your claim, new PIP2 and likely a face to face assessment and whilst this may result in the increased award you are looking for, there is guarantee of this.
The change will need to have existed for 3 months and be expected to reasonably last for a further 9 months.
If you wish to proceed then all you need to do is to write to the DWP office dealing with your PIP claim to make the request.
