mistake made in ill health pension!!!! was created by margaret
Hi please can someone advise me. i have worked for 18 years in my job and have been off sick due to severe degenerate disc disease and fibro. im in severe pain daily and on maximum meds. i have applied for ill health retirement and was contacted last monday and told by my employer my application had been approved. We had arranged a meeting for today with my employer to go over my pension and when i got there they said a mistake had been made and my application had been rejected. As i was so distraught the meeting was ended and my union rep said we will be contacting a solicitor.Does anyone have any advice. they said i cant appeal the decision. I cant go through all this again.

Thankyou

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you but I am afraid this is not a matter that we can help you with on the forum, any application for early retirement will be dependant on the terms and conditions of your employment, the best person for you to talk to will be your union rep and by the sound of it any solicitor that they might find.

You can claim ESA from the day after your SSP stopped, you will need an SSP1 certificate from your employer to confirm that you are no longer receiving SSP and obviously a Fit Note covering the period, if you have already provided one to your employer you should ask for a copy if you did not keep one for your records, otherwise you will need your GP to issue a new one.

I am afraid we do not deal with Tax Credits on the forum, I believe that you are entitled to a run on if you are no longer receiving any wages, but you really need to get face to face advice to confirm this. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
