I request my PIP application form last May (2014) which I received within a week - so far, so good. Thanks to B & W, I managed to complete the form (Previous DLA forms had always put me off from applying!). I then got 2 texts telling me I needed to return my form by 27 June otherwise I would lose any possible benefits. As I was going on holiday, I returned the form within 3 weeks. I then got another text to say they had received my application form but it could take up to 6 months for it to be processed. So why the rush to get the form returned!! I hadn't heard anything since then so in the first week of this month, I called to ask where my application was and whether it was being processed. They said they had it and I would need a face to face medical/interview and I would receive an appointment in the next 2 weeks. I'm still waiting.....not that I'm looking forward to the medical. Then probably the appeal process will be the next step. I'm just not sure it is worth all of this - the stress is just making my disabilities flare up. And while I've been waiting, I'm being made redundant because my job was relocated to a place I couldn't get to without having an adverse affect on my health. So maybe I'll just give up on this and live off my redundancy money until I can find another job.

Sorry that this is just a long moan but I feel better now for getting it off my chest.

Many congratulations though to everyone who has had the courage to battle on and win. That's brilliant news but you should never have had to go through that. If you are ill or disabled, why should you have to jump though hoops to prove it all the time?

The period to return the PIP2 form is defined in the legislation so that is why you were sent reminders about it, failing to return the form within the required timescales can lead to the claim being closed.

I am afraid you are caught in the queue for PIP assessments that has resulted from the Assessment Providers inadequately resourcing their assessment centres and the Government inviting more DLA claimants to claim PIP that it is capable of handling.

You can chase them up for an appointment, but it is unlikely to have much effect, even involving your MP will probably not result in a date.

Given the work you have already put in to receiving the benefit it would be a shame to stop your claim now, your redundancy money will not last forever. :)

Hi Blue- eyes,

I also requested a PIP application form in May 2014 and I received a brown envelope last week stating I have to have a F2F with ATOS on Friday (6th). So hopefully yours should be on the way. Hope this helps.

I applied Jan 14 and was awarded Aug 14.

I had read somewhere though they were taking more staff on.
