My mum died yesterday ...i have found a will and i have a 40 pc share of her house, but this cannot be sold for awhile as my mum's partner will remain there for at least 6 months. So i will have no money from this until after it is sold ...will i lose my esa ...many thanks (very worried)

Sorry for your loss.

We cannot give detailed financial advice on the forum, you need to speak to a qualified advisor, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

If you are receiving Contribution Based ESA then you savings and assets are not relevant to the claim.

If you are receiving Income Related ESA in part or in whole then your assets and savings are relevant to the claim, I am afraid that I cannot state whether this inheritance will count now or only when it can be realised.
