I was looking into having my PIP assessment being recorded, however, it appears that Atos do not offer their own equipment to record the assessment, but expect the claimant to bring recording equipment with them. Is this true? I do not have special recording equipment of my own, and was hoping that they would offer recordings as they do for ESA...
I am afraid that neither PIP Assessment Provider is required to provide recoding facilities for the assessments.
If you provide the equipment then it will need to be a dual recording machine using either tapes or recording direct to CD, two similar devices should be acceptable but a digital recorder or computer will not. You must get permission in advance to perform the recording.
You can covertly record the assessment, but if the assessor becomes aware that this is being done then they may terminate the assessment which will be counted as a failure to participate, so you should be very careful if you go down this route.
