home visit was created by joanna
Hi there,

This is the first time my son is applying for pip he always had high care and low mobility dla before. He is now 16 and im his main carer and also his appointee. My son has severe speech and language and behavioral problems, he also has ocd and adhd and self harms, he never goes out due too high anxiety attacks and never makes eye contact with strangers.Any way i put his claim in and had help with my local citizens advice as i needed advice and guidance on completing his claim.Well they replied saying i needed a home visit and they will be arriving next week, my son really wont co-operate with them and im afraid they will be doing more harm than good. My question is what should we be expecting and how do i prepare? thanks for listening and the help

There is a section in the PIP Claim guide that covers what to expect at the assessment.

As you your sons appointee, you should be able contribute in detail to the interview.
